Strobe Light Warnings to be Added to 'Incredibles 2' Viewings in Theaters

Lewis requested that Pixar, distributor Disney, and theaters issue warnings to patrons, a move that is now reportedly set to happen.

She describes herself on her blog as a "four-eyed college student from Virginia who loves writing about technology, education, and disability". The movie opened to an absolutely massive $180 million, smashing the record for the biggest animated opening of all time, which was previously held by Pixar's Finding Dory with $135 million.

A warning sign about flashing lights in the movie has been posted at some theaters. In the United Kingdom, for instance, we don't get the movie until next month.

"There are multiple scenes in this movie with full-screen, black-and-white flashing strobe effects".

The movie is based on the life of Parrs, a family blessed with superpowers.

"So, the villain's weapon of choice in the movie is bright white lights that are at a rapidly flashing/strobing frequency, with the intent to disorient people".

She detailed that one of the scenes lasts at least 90 seconds and that others range from five to 30 seconds in length.

Another user wrote, "Parents have the right to make an informed decision about something that could impact their child's safety and people with chronic illness have the right to learn about potential triggers/make steps to avoid them". Disney's official memo reads, "Incredibles 2 contains a sequence of flashing lights, which may affect customers who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy or other photosensitivities".

According to the Epilepsy Foundation, "for about 3 percent of people with epilepsy, exposure to flashing lights at certain intensities, or with certain visual patterns, can trigger seizures".

"We're big fans of the first movie, and we're looking forward to 'Incredibles 2, ' " she said.
