Advantage Serena as Wimbledon seeds keep falling

"I came in here the other day and it was like, "so if you win, then you play this person".

"She played really well".

That leaves Serena as the only remaining woman to have won the tournament.

Struff, who had recovered from 2-0 down to win both of his opening two matches, settled down in the second set and was clearly becoming more comfortable in the alien and daunting environment of Centre.

Three-time champion Novak Djokovic also marched on. It is timed for release as the anticipation crests with Roger as returning champion, 10 years after their famed 2008 Wimbledon championship - an epic match so close and so reflective of their competitive balance that, in the end, the true victor was the sport itself.

As Keys reflected on the defeat she said it showed just how mentally strong Williams was in coping with the added pressure of being favorite to win virtually every match she plays.

Only one former champion and one top 10 seed have made the fourth round of the women's singles at Wimbledon.

The 36-year-old American will face another mother in the fourth round Monday: 120th-ranked qualifier Evgeniya Rodina of Russian Federation, who upset No. 10 seed Madison Keys of the U.S.

Woods' best in three months, Molinari's first PGA win at TPC Potomac
But that was before the PGA Tour recognized it as an official victory unless a PGA Tour member had won the tournament. Francesco Molinari delivered a record performance to win the final edition of the Quicken Loans National .

"I think I can be very happy today", said Federer, who will next face France's Adrian Mannarino.

Federer, the only semi-finalist from past year left in either of the singles draws, will face France's Adrian Mannarino on Monday.

She next faces Italy's Camila Giorgi who saved a match point to beat Katerina Siniakova of the Czech Republic 3-6, 7-6 (8/6), 6-2.

After defending champion Garbine Muguruza suffered a shock exit in the second round on Thursday, it was 10th seed Keys' turn to endure an unexpected 7-5, 5-7, 6-4 third round defeat.

In a match full of big swings, Keys led 5-2 in the first set before Rodina won the next nine games to go 4-0 up in the second.

Rodina, a 120th-ranked Russian qualifier, upset Keys 7-5, 5-7, 6-4.

She is 36 and, against all odds, approaching the level that has brought her 23 grand slam titles, one short of the all-time record held by Margaret Court.

But instead the 38-year-old was worn down by Dutch 20th seed Bertens in a dramatic third round clash lasting two hours and 40 minutes in sweltering heat on Court One. But I always expect to do the best I can do.
