Trump reacts to Iranian president’s warning of ‘mother of all wars’ with fiery statement of his own

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani warned Trump about pursuing hardline policies against Tehran, saying "America should know... war with Iran is the mother of all wars", according to a Reuters report.

Zarif's tweet comes less than a day after Trump posted a furious Twitter warning to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

Trump on Sunday responded to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's comments that hostile behavior from the United States would result in the "mother of all wars" by vowing in a tweet that "YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED".

Rouhani has previously lashed out against Trump for threatening to re-impose the sanctions, as well as for moving the USA embassy to Jerusalem and banning travel to the US from certain Muslim-majority countries.

He says that unlike North Korea, "Iran never moved toward a nuclear bomb" and that therefore, "Iran is angry since Trump responded to Tehran's engagement diplomacy by pulling the USA out of the nuclear deal".

Gen Gheibparvar's comments were reported by the semi-official Isna news agency.

One of Trump's many criticisms of the accord, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, was that it did not do enough to stop Iran from funding extremist groups throughout the Middle East.

Although Iran and European signatories have been scrambling to save the deal, many Western companies and banks have stopped doing business in Iran amid fears they could be targeted by a reapplication of United States sanctions.

USA and Iran tensions have resurfaced after Rohani suggested his country might block Gulf oil exports.

Bolton also warned in May during an interview on CNN's "State of the Union" that it was "possible" the US may impose sanctions on European companies that keep doing business with Iran. "Be cautious!" Trump wrote.

Trump says he has 'full faith' in United States intelligence after Putin summit
He sided with Putin when asked whether he would condemn Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. Not only were Trump's comments imbecilic, he is wholly in the pocket of Putin.

Pompeo also tweeted a succession of messages in Farsi, trying to bring his message directly to any Iranians able to skirt their country's censors.

In Iran, threats and taunts toward the United States are common and part of many events sanctioned by the Iranian government.

Hours later, Trump tweeted that threats against the U.S.by Iran would be met with historic consequences.

But Rouhani also seemed to aim for peace.

The already tense relations between Washington and Tehran have been strained further by the US State Department's campaign to subvert the Iranian government through propaganda.

"We'll definitely defeat the United States", he said.

With the economic pressure, Mr Trump said earlier this month that "at a certain point they're going to call me and say 'let's make a deal, ' and we'll make a deal".

They then urged Trump to hold Russian Federation responsible for interfering in the 2016 US election.

Mr Rezaei, the Iranian Expediency Council secretary, responded to Donald Trump's all-capitals Twitter barrage by saying: "You, who possess more than 50k troops within the range of the Iran's fire, are the one who should be anxious".
