James Anderson reaches Lord’s milestone

India captain Virat Kohli batted with a lower back pain in the second Test against England but is confident of regaining full fitness ahead of the next game starting in Nottingham on 18 August.

KL Rahul was undone in similar fashion, pinned on the crease by Anderson, before Broad's afternoon spell disrupted the middle order to leave them 61-6.

"Very poor from India".

Chris Woakes (2-24) broke the resistance, trapping Pandya lbw in the 43rd over.

India's media on Monday lashed out at "abysmal batting" that led to a crushing innings defeat by England in the second Test at Lord's.

As well as reaching the Lord's milestone, the dismissal - Anderson's 96th against India - made him the highest wicket-taker in test matches between the two nations.

Bounding in with vigour and determination after replacing James Anderson at the Pavilion End, Broad dismissed captain Kohli (17) and wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik (0) off consecutive balls in the second innings.

Anderson now leads second-placed South Africa fast bowler Kagiso Rabada by 21 points in the bowlers' list. "But perhaps we are old fashioned, who don't understand modern day cricket", he said.

As it stands, Alderweireld and Maguire are considered too expensive, while Bayern Munich have knocked back a loan move for Boateng.

"Coming back into the side - as someone that's always been a big part of the squad for a long period of time now - it's great to see him [Woakes] taste some rewards, " England captain Joe Root said.

How the Indian team reacts after this reversal and how the under-fire players walk out again when the third Test begins at Trent Bridge will now only give us an indication of their character, but it will also help them save their own careers.

"He's not just good when the conditions suit him, but in these conditions he's the best in the world", Bayliss said.

"It was very impressive from the bowling department, but there are still question marks with the batting". I really hope he is fit - it's the number one Test side in the world against England in English conditions.

Asked whether Kohli will opt out of next month's Asia Cup in the UAE, Jones said,"The guy that I know, Virat Kohli, he will play on one leg if he has to (in the Asia Cup)".

Nine-wicket England bowler James Anderson: "Another great week!"

After starring with the bat, Chris Woakes took his chance with the ball.

Earlier, Tendulkar's opening partner Virender Sehwag was also disappointed over the Indian performance. While we all want to stand by our team and support them when they don't do well, going down without a fight is very disappointing to watch. You can not get practice facilities in London as easily as you would in Nottingham - I hope they practice from Tuesday.
