Trump slams damning New York Times op-ed as ‘gutless’

The op-ed represents a "national security" issue, Trump claimed to reporters aboard Air Force One today, according to the Associated Press.

The op-ed author wrote that Trump administration officials were a check on the president's erratic behavior, including some of his decisions on foreign policy and national security.

WASHINGTON-President Donald Trump said Friday his Justice Department should launch an investigation into what government official penned an anonymous New York Times Op-Edis job.

Trump had threatened to sue the Times when he was running for president in October 2016 because of its story about allegations of sexual assault against women. Some poked fun at his inability to say the word, while others pointed out the irony of Trump's slurring on stage when he often comments on Hillary Clinton's "failing" health.

"The President just, just today said he believes it's somebody in national security", Conway told Christiane Amanpour for her show which premiers on CNN International and PBS on Monday.

"I think the author of the anonymous editorial, and frankly The New York Times, should be ashamed", Pence told Brennan. He also unleashed on Trump's border wall, lack of emergency response after Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico and immigration laws.

"It shouldn't be Democratic or Republican to say we don't target certain groups of people based on what they look like or how they pray".

The 25th Amendment allows the vice president and a majority of Cabinet officials to inform Congress that the president is unfit for duty, thereby allowing the vice president to assume the presidency.
