"Ugh We miss you @xxxtentacion", tweeted one fan who was moved by the song.

As noted by NME, the album was delayed due to contractual disputes between Wayne and Cash Money Records, as well as personal drama between Weezy and label head Birdman. That said, it seems most of the world would agree that Tha Carter V has been well worth the wait.

Watch his announcement video below.

Throughout the past 12 hours, hip-hop heavyweights have celebrated Wayne's new album release. It's impossible to discuss the last 15 years of rap without including Lil Wayne in the conversation. 2018 has already been a big release year for Yeezy, with his eighth studio album, "Ye", and third and fourth collaborative albums, "KIDS SEE GHOSTS" and "Good Ass Job".

Federal Bureau of Investigation probe ordered against Brett Kavanaugh
Jeff Flake told the Senate Judiciary Committee as he proposed the delay. "I know because I frequently drank to excess with him". Ford said Keyser was at the party when the assault happened but was downstairs and did not directly witness the incident.

Nicki Minaj took to her Instagram to wish Lil Wayne a happy birthday, and in the same breath, she thanks him for giving her a chance and signed her to Young Money.

Again, almost a year went by as fans waited and hoped that Tha Carter V was still coming. He has decided that his birthday, September 27, is the best moment to do this and he announced the plan to his fans.

The rapper samples Sampha's pensive 2013 song "Indecision", on the album's finale "Let It All Work Out", perhaps the most emotional and retrospective cut on the 23-track album. Anticipation is high and this looks like the closest we've ever been to actually getting the album. Will Tha Carter V really, finally be released? Both Wayne and James have come a long way since 2004.
