Cristiano Ronaldo excluded from Portugal squad

Ronaldo said he was calm over "any and all investigations" as he had a "clear" conscience over the allegation.

This autumn, Portugal are due to play three Nations League games, against Poland on October 17 and against Italy and Poland in November and a friendly against Scotland later this month.

Ronaldo has been accused of rape by Kathryn Mayorga, who says the player assaulted her in Las Vegas in 2009.

However, Ronaldo told Santos and Gomes that he is still fully committed to representing and captaining Portugal going forward, and has no intention of retiring from the national team any time soon. He has denied the accusation.

Ronaldo's denial came as lawyers for his accuser said they had obtained damning correspondence between the footballer and his legal team.

"My clear conscious [sic] will thereby allow me to await with tranquillity the results of any and all investigations".

Qureshi said it was the third time that the current Indian administration had called off talks, "each time on flimsy grounds". Those who take innocent human lives in pursuit of war by other means are defenders of inhuman behavior, not of human rights.

Mayorga was interviewed by police and submitted to a medical examination after the alleged sexual assault in 2009 but declined to press charges, with the Las Vegas police saying in a statement Monday that she "did not provide detectives with the location of the incident or suspect description".

Mayorga's lawsuit, however, said she had named the footballer to police "within weeks of the initial report".

Photos show Mayorga and Ronaldo partying at a Las Vegas hotel that year.

"The #MeToo movement was very important to Kathryn and her decision to consult with us and to go forward in this case", Stovall said. Since then she had been suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.

After she refused his demand to perform oral sex and said she wanted to leave, Ronaldo pulled her into a bedroom and anally raped her while she screamed "no, no, no", according to the suit.

"She has suffered an emotional, a psychological injury", Stovall said.
