Former Arsenal striker, Ian Wright has named forward, Alex Iwobi as the Gunners player that may have convinced manager, Unai Emery not to renew fellow teammate, Aaron Ramsey's contract at the Emirates.

Head coach Unai Emery lost his first two games in charge - to champions Manchester City and London rivals Chelsea - but since then his team has been flawless.

"He can play anywhere, in any league, for any elite club".

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scores his second.

With Arsenal heading into the worldwide break on the back of a positive run of results there is talk they could now finish back in the top four - if not challenge for the title - having missed out on Champions League football for the last two seasons.

"The impact he's made in the last few games Iwobi, coming on and he's actually replaced Ramsey and he's made an impact".

There were four replay challenges in the first four innings - all involving calls by first base umpire Angel Hernandez . David Price suffered the loss as he surrendered three earned runs on three hits with two strikeouts over 1 2/3 innings.

"Our performance over the 90 minutes was very important; to be together and with our performance we found each moment and each player", said Emery. How many of us really think through our pre-work routine in the morning for instance? I think we are in the first competition in the war. "And whether you are expected to win or not, you still have to do so". "It is very hard but we must prepare, continue improving and show big commitment", said Emery.

Ozil will have the global break to recover in time for the Leicester City clash after retiring from the Germany national team after the World Cup.

Arsenal's nine victories have been amassed at the expense of West Ham, Cardiff, Newcastle, Everton, Watford and Fulham in the Premier League, while Brentford were beaten in the League Cup, along with wins over Vorskla Poltava and Qarabag in the Europa League.

City's normal penalty taker, Sergio Aguero, had already been substituted when Virgil van Dyke clattered into Leroy Sane in what the defender later admitted was "not a smart move".

"We tried to win the game", he said.
