After being held to just one run for the first eight innings of Game 4 - including a brilliant relief appearance by ace Chris Sale in the eighth - they almost pulled off a miracle win against All-Star closer Craig Kimbrel in the ninth.

Manager Alex Cora dug into the bullpen beginning in the sixth, calling on Matt Barnes. Red Sox pitcher Rick Porcello fired back.

NY faced a win-or-go-home predicament in that 1978 clash between these storied rivals, and did so again Tuesday night.

But it wasn't before closer Craig Kimbrel almost blew it for Boston.

After winning Games 1 and 3 to take a 2-1 lead in the series, the Red Sox were put in position to close the Yankees out in Game 4 thanks to an absolutely stellar pitching performance by Rick Porcello, a former AL Cy Young award victor.

The Boston Red Sox are moving on. He added his second hit of the seven-run inning on a two-run triple to the corner in right and added a ground-rule double to right center in the eighth.

Some sanctions took effect from August 6 while those affecting the oil and banking sectors will start from November 4. The Trump administration is considering waivers on sanctions for countries that are reducing their imports.

A night after Boston romped to a record-setting 16-1 rout in a game that included three replay reversals, Martinez, Ian Kinsler and Nunez drove in runs in the third inning off a wobbly CC Sabathia. His cycle came in the 1,562nd postseason game in major league history, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. That last line drew a chuckle from several Red Sox players fresh out of the shower, each of whom were likely still a bit surprised by what they had just witnessed. Don't know about you, but after this, my nerves will be ready for another Red Sox-Yankees series in, oh, about 14 years.

"That's the one team that you don't want to lose to", outfielder Brett Gardner said. Eduardo Núñez brought Kinsler home with a single to left field to push the lead to three runs.

Houston and Boston split the series in Houston in late May and early June.

He needed 35 pitches to get through two innings and nicked Benintendi on the right shoulder with a slider on his first pitch of the third.

Xander Bogaerts advanced Pearce with a comebacker and, with David Robertson starting to warm up, Sabathia threw a wild pitch on a cross-up with Sanchez. Kinsler made it 2-0 with a double over Gardner's head in left, and Nunez made it 3-0 with a single to left. The out call was upheld after a brief video review.
