Two middle school girls were arrested in Bartow, Florida on Tuesday, after plotting to kill fifteen classmates as an act of Satan worship.

Investigators say they also found messages on the girls' cell phones about the planned attacks.

Two students at a middle school in Florida came to school with knives and planned to attack students on Tuesday, according to officials.

Bartow Police Chief Joe Hall said the girls never said their plot was a joke.

According to officials, the 11- and 12-year-old girls said they were Satan worshipers and were going to drink the blood of the students they killed, and possibly eat their flesh.

School administrators were looking for the girls inside the school after one had been reported as missing from her class.

Both girls remain in police custody, as parents at the school told United States media they kept their children at home on Wednesday after the scare.

Detectives searching the girls' homes found a disturbing hand-drawn map including the phrase "go to kill bathroom".

One of the messages said, "We will leave body parts at the entrance and then we will kill ourselves", according to police.

Saying, "you can't call it an existing viable treaty if the Russians have been violating it for a number of years", Mr. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Monday strongly denied Russian Federation was in violation of the treaty.

The two girls are facing charges for conspiracy to commit first-degree murder among over things.

The girls reportedly hoped to kill at least 15 people in their stabbing spree.

Additional police were already on campus because a student had notified a teacher of a rumor about a possible threat to students at the school in a specific building.

"Killing all of these students was in hopes it would make them worse sinners ensuring that after they killed themselves". They meant to eat the victims' flesh, place their body parts by the school's front entrance and kill themselves once it was over, police said.

After the girls were caught, they told cops they had hatched the plot over the weekend and wanted to do it in the name of devil-worship.

In a statement on Wednesday, Hall said he found the incident "troubling". Officers also found paring and butcher knives, along with a pizza cutter.

The school said in a tweet: "School staff quickly responded to a report of suspicious behaviour; the students were taken into custody, and no one was harmed".

Prosecutors will now decide whether the two girls will be charged as juveniles or as adults.
