Trump blames media after bomb scares

The FBI has arrested a man in Florida in connection with the 12 improvised explosive devices that had been sent to Democratic officials, donors and CNN, the news network reported Friday.

Police and FBI take questions about the suspicious packages and the ongoing investigation.

The FBI confirmed Friday it had recovered a suspicious package in Florida addressed to Senator Cory Booker, a Democrat from New Jersey.

At a press conference Thursday, officials in NY would not discuss possible motives or details on how the packages found their way into the US postal system.

Two other suspicious packages were also sent to the DE to the former vice president, democrat Joe Biden, vice-president during the two terms of Barack Obama and cited among the democratic candidates potential for the presidential election of 2020.

An X-ray of the package indicated a similar pipe bomb inside, and investigators suspect it was sent by the same person who sent explosives to Ms Clinton, Mr Obama and others, a law enforcement official said.

Authorities already were aware at least one Biden package by Wednesday; it had been misaddressed and returned to sender, and postal officials were trying to track it down, two law enforcement sources said.

"I do want to just echo one thing that John Brennan said and that this is not going to silence the administration's critics", Clapper said. Clean up your act. try to act Presidential.

More than 10 mail bombs have been sent in recent days to political opponents of the president. One official told AP that investigators are homing in on a postal facility in Opa-locka, Florida, where they believe some packages originated.

Devices have also been sent to former President Barack Obama, former Vice-President Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton and CNN. "Inside they saw what appears to be a pipe bomb consistent with other devices we've seen this week contained in a package consistent with the packaging we've seen this week". This is the second time this week a suspected explosive was sent to CNN and addressed to a former intelligence official turned cable news commentator.

The package was received in the building's general mailroom on Wednesday, according to a law enforcement official.

John Elway disappointed, concerned with Chad Kelly's actions
The man who chased backup Denver Broncos quarterback Chad Kelly out of his home says all he wanted to do was protect his family. The man told police the doors to the residence were locked, but there were no signs of forced entry, according to the affidavit.

"This is definitely domestic terrorism", Clapper told CNN Friday, hitting out at Trump saying he bore "some responsibility" for a decline in civility.

A suspicious white powder found in an envelope along with the device sent to Brennan and CNN was tested and found not to be anthrax or other known agents, a source said. His ended up at the Sunrise, Fla., office of Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who was listed as the return address. Sweeney said the powder contained in envelopes holding the devices found in NY did not pose any biological threat and said the substance was still being analyzed.

A package has been found at a mail sorting facility in Florida on Friday and was addressed to Mr Booker, the senator from New Jersey, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said on Twitter.

"It does remain possible that further packages have been or could be mailed", William Sweeney, assistant director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, told an afternoon news conference in NY. Authorities were also investigating a suspicious package in Sacramento, California, addressed to Democratic Sen.

He also thanked "the courageous and resourceful security and law enforcement people for protecting us".

Similar packages addressed to Mrs Clinton and Mr Obama were intercepted on their way to Mrs Clinton's NY home where she lives with former President Bill Clinton and to Washington, where Mr Obama lives with his wife, Michelle.

With the United States bitterly divided and crucial midterm elections on November 6, Trump reacted first by calling for unity and condemning "acts of political violence", before reverting to attacks on the media.

Brennan replied Trump should stop blaming others and should "Look in the mirror".

New York's state Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo was unimpressed. The official said the devices were made from PVC pipe and covered with black tape. None detonated and no one has been hurt.

The first bomb discovered was delivered Monday to the suburban NY compound of Soros, a major contributor to Democratic causes.
