Donald Trump's White House Revokes Jim Acosta's CNN Press Credentials

Trump attacks members of his own party and shouts at CNN’s Jim Acosta in wild press conference

Reporter Jim Acosta's press pass was suspended Wednesday following a heated confrontation between him and U.S. President Donald Trump. Acosta joined a room of other journalists in questioning the president after the mid-term elections, and the topic of immigration came up.

Acosta called the accusation that he put his hands on the intern a "lie".

The president's mood turned sour Wednesday after reporters pressed him on why he referred to a migrant caravan making its way to the USA on foot through Mexico as an "invasion". Instead, Acosta continued with a second question about the Russian investigation, which Trump shrugged off with another curt answer.

It was at this point the female staff member attempted to take the microphone from Mr Acosta. Acosta stood back up and began mentioning, without a microphone, the explosive devices that were recently sent to CNN and some of the president's political opponents.

Sanders said Thursday the White House stood by its decision: "The question is: did the reporter make contact or not?"

"When I saw that, I learned very early on that what I saw was a battery, not by Jim Acosta but by the young White House aide", added Sunny Hostin. But pulling the credentials of a White House reporter over nothing more than a personal grievance from the president is entirely unprecedented, even in Donald Trump's administration.

The Trial of Mexican Drug Lord "El Chapo" Starts Monday in Brooklyn
He has been in solitary confinement in a high-security NY prison since Mexico extradited him to the United States in January 2017. El Chapo pleaded not guilty to all the crimes against him - global drug trafficking, gun charges, money laundering, and more .

"Revoking access to the White House complex is a reaction out of line to the purported offence and is unacceptable".

Matt Dornic, a vice-president at CNN, said: "Absolutely shameful, @PressSec". Trump then said he wanted immigrants to "come in legally". The aide reaches for the microphone twice with her right hand as Acosta shields it.

"I tell you what, CNN should be ashamed of itself having you working for them", the President said, shaking a finger at Acosta. I do think, Anderson, that this is a test for all of us. Wait. You know why we need the people?

"This is a test for all of us", says Acosta. "We do have to stick together, but Jim Acosta makes it awfully hard to have journalistic solidarity in something like this". "President Trump has given the press more access than any President in history".

The "actual fake news" hysteria started after Sanders announced that Acosta's hard pass had been revoked "until further notice". "Only they would attack the President for not being supportive of a free press in the midst of him taking 68 questions from 35 different reporters over the course of an hour and a half - including several from the reporter in question".
