British Lawmakers Warn They Will Vote Against Brexit Deal

In response, a United Kingdom government spokesperson said that "we have already been laying the groundwork for an ambitious agreement with the USA through our joint working groups, which have met five times so far" and that May's Brexit deal is "very clear" the United Kingdom would be able to sign trade deals with countries around the world.

European Council President Donald Tusk said no one should be "raising Champagne glasses" at the prospect of the United Kingdom departing. Leaders generally dislike the departure but now want to pin down the deal to free them to focus on other, more pressing problems such as populism, struggling economies and Russian Federation. But he said Britain would be in "choppy waters" if the deal was rejected.

The deal is unpopular with EU-supporting MPs but also hardline eurosceptics - such as Jacob Rees-Mogg who wanted to trigger a vote of no confidence in the Prime Minister.

Trump was speaking to reporters outside the White House when he was asked about the deal May struck with the EU's other 27 heads of state and government on Sunday.

The deal, which was the result of a year and a half of often contentious negotiations, still needs to be approved by the British Parliament, where a politically diverse majority of lawmakers are already lined up against the deal for being too much, too little, or totally stupid and unnecessary.

Mrs May said the deal would deliver on jobs, but queried Mr Corbyn's commitment to a deal.

"The British people want us to get on with a deal that honours the referendum and allows us to come together again as a country whichever way we voted", she will say".

One of the big issues is the future of the border between Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Both sides have been making preparations for such a "no deal" scenario, though the European Union insists Britain has more to lose.

Deadly gun attack at Chinese consulate in Karachi
Two separate terror attacks took place in Pakistan on Friday morning, killing at least 27 people, and wounding over 20 people. Balochistan has accused Pakistan and China of stripping resources from land it wants to turn into an independant state.

And he said "I am not a fortune teller" in regards to what would happen if the British Parliament doesn't approve the agreement.

Prime Minister Theresa May has confirmed the "meaningful vote" on Brexit will be held on December 11.

According to the report, remaining in a customs union beyond the transition period, possibly through invoking the so-called Irish backstop, would still reduce GDP by 2.8 per cent a year, the equivalent of £70 billion a year, while an orderly no deal departure from the EU would lessen GDP by 5.5 per cent, or £140 billion a year. There will be common customs arrangements to provide tariff-free trade, and the two sides commit to "build and improve on" the temporary single customs territory set out in the withdrawal agreement.

Brexit enters into force on March 29 and May´s government is also making "no-deal" preparations just in case.

UK Prime Minister Theresa May met with European Union officials earlier this week to secure their backing ahead of the summit.

"This is the deal on the table", May said after the vote.

Mrs May said MPs faced a choice: "We can back this deal, deliver on the vote of the referendum and move on to building a brighter future of opportunity and prosperity for all our people".

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle hate the deal including many in her Conservative Party who have publicly voiced their stance against it.
