Inter to play two home games behind closed doors after Koulibaly abuse

"I condemn [what happened] with no ifs and buts", Spalletti told a news conference.

"'Enough" to jeering a coach or a player for 90 minutes. "That is the main thing".

"We note the sanction applied to Inter, two matches behind closed doors is a clear signal, but it is not enough, so much more still remains to be done to stop the rot at the heart of Italian football".

The supporter group, who organised a similar show of solidarity in February 2016 after Koulibaly was abused by Lazio fans, want followers of all Serie A clubs to unite in their latest campaign.

Meanwhile, AC Milan's Gennaro Gattuso said he agrees with the idea of stopping a match, but added that it was unfair to "attack" Italy as a country.

"We need to educate children when they start school", he said.

Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini had appeared to play down the suggestion of racist chanting on an Italian TV show, before clarifying his comments.

A day later, the Cardinals claimed him off waivers and placed offensive lineman Korey Cunningham (foot) on injured reserve. Swearinger acknowledged he's emotional and that controlling himself is hard in the minutes after the game.

Kalidou Koulibaly was unsettled by racist abuse (Napoli asked three times for the game to be suspended, and Inter will now have to play two games behind closed doors) and received two yellow cards, and after Martinez netted the victor, Lorenzo Insigne was dismissed for dissent.

Under the three-step process, the referee can, in the event of racist chanting, first halt the match and ask for an announcement to be made over the tannoy for it to stop.

According to UEFA's protocol, the match should have been suspended then but instead the game was allowed to continue.

Fare said in a statement: "The incident last night follows a pattern in which players are abused, they report it to the referee, the referee fails to take effective action and the player is eventually sent off". Moreover, it seems that Napoli's coaching staff had already informed the referee several times of racist chants.

Juventus were hit with a partial stadium closure and a fine of 10,000 euros in October for racist chanting by fans towards the Napoli defender during a 3-1 victory for the champions.

Inter captain Mauro Icardi has condemned racism after the Nerazzurri received a two-match stadium ban following chants allegedly directed at Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly.

"FIFPro and UEFA support the Italian football authorities on any additional measure that will be taken to tackle racism in stadia for which FIFPro and UEFA have a zero-tolerance policy".
