In a surprising move, Ken Rosenthal has reported that the New York Yankees have signed veteran infielder, DJ LeMahieu.

Some reports that the White Sox unwilling to move past seven years for Machado, whereas the Phillies might be willing to go a little further.

Machado's first choice was the Yankees, who were believed to be the favorites at the outset of the season but are loaded with infielders after adding D.J. LeMahieu and Troy Tulowitzki to an already deep group and are spending elsewhere.

If the White Sox are able to sign Machado, it will be interesting to see how they fare in 2019. While this offseason drags on - and we hopefully get closer to a Bryce Harper and/or Manny Machado signing - we'll keep you updated on all the latest rumors and transactions. The Yankees were thought to be his preference, meaning he may just take the most money on the table of the two remaining teams, and that's likely to come from Philadelphia.

Didi Gregorius will regain his role as the team's shortstop in 2020 and by choosing their current route, the club has signaled that they prefer Miguel Andujar as their long term option at third base.
