Mortal Kombat 11: Ronda Rousey unveiled as voice of Sonya Blade

Now, a day before Mortal Kombat 11's reveal event, Rousey herself has confirmed that she will indeed be in attendance during tomorrow's showing live from Los Angeles. It's a dream come true to be a part of the Mortal Kombat franchise that I grew up playing. None the less, here's a list of everyone confirmed for the Mortal Kombat 11 roster so far.

Mortal Kombat 11 Reveal Event - What's being revealed?

NetherRealm and Warner Bros. announced details of the upcoming Mortal Kombat 11 video game on Thursday (January 17).

"Sonya Blade was the first kick ass girl I saw come onto the scene", says Rousey in the video streamed during the event. We have an incredible community, and it's an honour to share this celebration of the Mortal Kombat™ franchise with all of our passionate fans around the world. Both Raiden and Scorpion made heavy use of various weapons in the initial announcement trailer, meaning that a feature that hasn't been seen since Mortal Kombat: Armageddon in 2006 could be making a return.

While by no means proof that Rousey will indeed be voicing Sonya Blade, those rumors do now seem to be incredibly likely.

Sonya was one of the original seven - and only female - character in the very first Mortal Kombat game, released all the way back in 1992, mixing it up with Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub Zero and Raiden, as well as nemesis Kano, and eventual babydaddy Johnny Cage.

Introduction to the Story Mode, teasing the all-new, time-bending narrative, featuring Kronika, the first female boss character in Mortal Kombat history, who is the Keeper of Time and creator of existence.

It's unclear right now if those six pairs will be recreated or sold, but they serve the dual goal of promoting the upcoming Mortal Kombat game and offering a close-up look at the Anatomix Spawn basketball sneaker, which goes on sale January 26 for $110. Of course, you'll need to pre-order Mortal Kombat 11 to get in, and it won't be available on all platforms. Maybe wrestlers just like to attend Mortal Kombat-related events? Pre-orders will receive the in-game, playable character, Shao Kahn.
