Pokémon Eevee becomes part of Ariana Grande’s body thanks to her new Pocket Monster tattoo
In that vein, she went to bat and followed up "thank u, next" and "imagine" with "7 rings": a song that interpolates the melody from The Sound of Music's "My Favorite Things" with a sparse pizzicato - and cribs a bit from Notorious B.I.G. and Princess Nokia.
For those who don't know, the singer penned the song after she gifted herself and six of her friends rings from Tiffany & Co, after she had a "pretty rough day" in NYC.
Grande reportedly went out with her friends to a jewellery store and bought seven engagement rings for them. "I see it, I like it, I want it, I got it", Grande sings in In "7 Rings".
The "For the night" rapper took to Instagram on Friday (January 18) to point out the similarities between her song "Mine", which was featured on her 1992 mixtape, and Ariana's "7 Rings".
"Does that sound familiar to you?" Oh my god! Ain't that the lil' song I made about brown women and their hair? "Hmm... sounds about white!".
French govt activates plan to prepare for no-deal Brexit
Parliament would still need to vote on any new agreement, and it is not clear when that might happen. Estimates of up to 40% of Labour voters in 2017 supported Leave.
Grande dropped the track after midnight on Friday.
"I'ma big @princessnokia fan". Also, the song has been on repeat since it was released. "Cause that sound really familiar to me".
Princess Nokia has also retweeted a tweet that suggested Grande "plagiarizes flows, words, bars from Nokia" on her forthcoming album "Thank You, Next".
It's certainly true that the current state of both hip-hop and pop is one of collaboration and sampling.
