AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso has acknowledged that Gonzalo Higuain has made his mind up to join Chelsea during the current transfer window.

However, Riccio told Gazzetta: "As for the transfer market we are all grown-ups, we know how to deal with these situations".

"It has been in the air for a few days".

Gattuso added: "Right now we have to work with professionalism and determination, all these rumours have not helped us lately and we have to look ahead".

Fabio Borini and Suso were restored to Milan's starting line-up from their 1-0 loss to Juventus in last week's Supercoppa Italiana, both getting on the scoresheet in a well-earned win for Gattuso's men.

AC Milan, meanwhile, are reported to be chasing Genoa's Polish striker Krzysztof Piatek, who has scored 19 goals in 21 appearances since moving from Cracovia in July.

Sarri said then that a new arrival could galvanise a team he has found "extremely hard to motivate".

He was ineffectual once more and has previously spoken of his unhappiness in the position.

Just four points separate Milan and eighth-placed Sampdoria in a tight race to qualify for Europe's premier club competition. "So I'm not frustrated at the moment". "I'll also frustrate the next manager I have".

Bayern Munich confirmed on Wednesday that they are in talks with Chelsea over buying Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The Blues have been on the hunt for a top-class striker this January with Alvaro Morata still failing to live up to his £60million price tag, only managing five league goals so far this season.

The Italian felt a striker was needed, despite having Diego Costa and Loic Remy on the books.
