Disable FaceTime Now! Bug Lets Callers Snoop On You Without Permission

This particular bug allows a caller to hear audio and see the camera feed from their recipients even though they didn't pick up the call. By doing this, the call becomes a group call and the recipient's audio becomes available even if they haven't answered. Apple should shut down FaceTime for everyone if that's what it takes. I was able to get it to work on a variety of iOS devices ranging from a very new iPhone XS to a very beat-up iPhone 5, but all were running iOS 12.1 and above.

As reported by 9to5Mac, the FaceTime bug can be activated when a caller adds his or her own phone number through the Add Person feature during FaceTime Video call.

Taking the flaw a step further, The Verge is reporting that if the recipient of the conference call presses the power or volume button to ignore the call, video, as well as audio, is broadcasted without the recipient's knowledge.

Wealthy Trump officials keep trying to relate to furloughed workers, keep failing
He acknowledged they would probably have to pay some interest, but he said it should help them cover costs. Ross also sought to downplay the overall economic effect of 800,000 federal workers going without pay.

While it is not known who first discovered this bug, numerous people have been posting about it on social media and making video demonstrations as shown below. And that could be a very, very, very disastrous bug (via 9to5Mac). The only thing is, he never picked up the phone while I was listening, or knew that I could hear him.

"We're aware of this issue and we have identified a fix that will be released in a software update later this week", an Apple spokesperson said in a statement. At this point in time, disabling FaceTime or immediately dismissing FaceTime calls appear to be the only protection against snooping. Until then, the only way to protect yourself is by going to Settings, FaceTime and disabling the feature.
