McVay shows promise for NFL’s coaching future

Everyone loves a great quarterback duel in the Super Bowl, and this one is sure to bring some fireworks with Tom Brady and Jared Goff slinging the ball around when necessary.

No one foresees that he and the Rams will be able to replicate the Patriots' sustained level of success of the past two decades, but those on his staff are being poached and hired by other organizations to head coaching and offensive coordinator positions as if he already has.

Head coach Sean McVay of the Los Angeles Rams.

As usual, Super Bowl Sunday is an event - with much more than just the broadcast of the game going on.

It was coincidentally with a win against the Rams - who were based in St Louis at the time - at the end of the 2001 season that Brady first got his hands on the Vince Lombardi Trophy as a second-year signal caller.

Those changes could include firing Sutton, who has been the team's defensive coordinator since Andy Reid was hired in 2013. This was his sixth year as an National Football League coach and he helped Dee Ford produce his best season as a pro.

He ended up catching 39 passes at Miami of OH where he played in a total of 26 games. McVay's rise to coaching fame in the National Football League was kickstarted in 2010 when he was hired by head coach Mike Shanahan of the Washington Redskins as an assistant tight ends coach and was promoted to tight ends coach the following season, a position he held until the end of the 2013 season.

"If we continue to prepare like we have, I think we'll play well", he said.

McVay goes into the Super Bowl with a 26-9 record as head coach, the only thing that stands between him and Super Bowl history is the New England Patriots. "Something I'd never take for granted, and I'd never take Coach Belichick for granted". "I didn't even know all of the coach's names in a week, " defensive coordinator Wade Phillips said. Together they managed to turn the Redskins offence from the 25 ranked to the 3 ranked overall between 2014 and 2016.

"The coaching, the playing, the consistency - Coach McVay's done a tremendous job out there". CBS' NFL Today pre-game show, featuring James Brown, Bill Cowher, Nate Burleson, Boomer Esiason, and Super Bowl XXI MVP Phil Simms, is being rebranded as Super Bowl Today and will kick off at 2:00 pm ET.
