LeBron changes tune on state of Lakers: 'We like where we are'

The Lakers created an open roster spot at the trade deadline, when they sent Michael Beasley and Ivica Zubac to the Los Angeles Clippers for Mike Muscala. They entered Wednesday night in 11th place in the Western Conference.

Joakim Noah had 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Avery Bradley scored 15 points for Memphis, which ended a four-game skid.

Two games later, the Lakers hit a new season low in an ugly loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.

One unnamed National Basketball Association executive believes James bears some of the responsibility for the Lakers' problems by making no secret of his admiration for Davis. James has made it to the NBA Finals in each of the last eight seasons with either the Miami Heat or Cleveland Cavaliers.

Whether it's rhetoric, trying to flip the proverbial switch or a shared mindset, James and Walton stayed focused on the opportunity to lead the Lakers to their first playoff berth in six years.

Oil prices firm on trade hopes, but record United States output drags
Goldman Sachs said in a note that it expects OPEC output to average 31.1 million bpd in 2019, down from 31.9 million bpd. That means much will depend on demand, which Goldman said it expected to grow by 1.4 million bpd this year.

Sharp: Well, let me ask you something because I'm curious: At what point do we see Lakers fans begin to turn on LeBron and we see a Kobe fan uprising? Ahead of them are the Minnesota Timberwolves (29-31), Sacramento Kings (31-29) and the San Antonio Spurs (33-29).

"At this point if you are still allowing distractions to affect how the way you play, then this is the wrong franchise to be a part of and you should just come and be like, "Listen, I don't think this is for me", James told reporters.

Andrew Sharp: I believe I said I don't see LeBron being on an above average defense for the rest of his career, just because of the way he's wired at these days in the regular season, and I think we're seeing that come to fruition.

Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonzo Ball (2) dribbles the ball as Houston Rockets guard Eric Gordon (10) defends during the third quarter at Toyota Center. That's what you want. If you want to be a guy who doesn't get traded, you've got to step up. If you want to be a guy who doesn't get traded, you've got to step up. But he's also been lambasted for seemingly giving up on the Lakers.

With the Lakers now sitting in 11th place in the Western Conference standings at 29-31, LeBron James says his team is still in a good place, despite their recent struggles.
