Roma sack Eusebio Di Francesco after UCL KO

Alex Telles converted a VAR-awarded penalty deep into extra time as Porto defeated Roma 3-1 on Wednesday to reach the Champions League quarter-finals following a 4-3 win on aggregate.

In his first season he led Roma to third in the league and to the semi-finals of the Champions League, where en route they completed one of the greatest European comebacks ever when they beat Barcelona 3-0 in Rome, having lost the first leg at the Camp Nou 4-1.

Roma have announced the sacking of Eusebio Di Francesco as club manager.

The 67-year-old Italian's brief spell as manager of Premier League strugglers Fulham ended last month after only four months in charge.

Why Congress Is (Properly) Redoing Much of the Mueller Probe
The probe comes following mid-term elections in the U.S. that gave Democrats a majority over Trump's Republicans in the House. Trump argued that Democrats were more focused on investigations than "getting legislation passed".

The Guardian have Ranieri as the favourite for the Roma job, with Di Francesco losing his job after his side were knocked out the UEFA Champions League. "We all wish him well for the future", said team president James Pallotta.

Monchi apologised after he was involved in an incident with Roma fans at the airport as the team returned home from Portugal on Thursday, though he said it was not as bad as reported in the Italian media. "I apologise to all the fans especially those who were at the airport at that time".

The Serie A outfit came into the encounter leading 2-1 and they almost fell behind inside the opening five minutes when Alex Telles volleyed over the crossbar, before the Porto attacker hit the side-netting 10 minutes later.

Shortly afterwards, Roma also thought they had won a penalty when the referee stopped the game while the video assistant looked for a possible push by Moussa Marega on Patrik Schick but play was waved on, this time without a pitchside review. I'm exhausted of this crap.
