Madrid agree €50m deal for Porto’s Militao

Militao, 21, will move to the Bernabeu in June on a six-year deal, Madrid announced in a statement.

Real Madrid have agreed to sign defender Eder Militao from Porto at the end of the season for his buy-out clause of 50m euros (£42.7m).

But Real Madrid have won the race for the Brazilian and are happy with the deal.

And he hasn't wasted any time in making his first addition.

After undergoing medical testing overnight on Tuesday, Real Madrid confirmed the news on Thursday.

But, after just 33 appearances, Real Madrid were convinced to sign him for €50 million and he has signed a contract until 2025.

The Brazil worldwide, who joined Porto from Sao Paulo in the summer, will join up with his new team-mates at the start of next season. Militao was named as the best defender in the competition for five consecutive matches.

He is also a full Brazil global and made his debut against El Salvador in September 2018.

"His speed, positioning and anticipation are his greatest assets, while he is also strong in the air".

He has also played regularly in the Champions League, helping Porto reach the quarter finals for the first time since 2015.

Eder may well be young, but he clearly has the talent to establish himself as a key cog in Real Madrid's defence.
