$625 Million Powerball Jackpot Up for Grabs

The Powerball drawing for Saturday, March 23, 2019, has reached $625 million.

It would be the seventh-highest US lottery jackpot ever.

The Powerball jackpot was won eight times a year ago, including once in New Jersey.

Since Texas joined in the multi-state Powerball games in 2010, there have been two jackpot winners here, lottery officials say. The website reads "Pending" until the results are known.

The winning Powerball numbers are: 66, 52, 60, 24, 25, 05. The Power Play was 3x.

But be warned: The odds of winning are 1 in roughly 292,000,000.

The last MI player to win the Powerball jackpot was Julie Leach, of Three Rivers.

Trump lashes out again at late senator John McCain
McCain, who passed away from brain cancer last August, has been the subject of many presidential tweets since his death. The President also called McCain "last in his class" at the US Naval Academy.

The cash option for the jackpot is about $381 million. After taxes Bailey, 67, walked away with a check for $125 million. So even before state taxes, you'd be down to $289.3 million.

Eight of those winners - with tickets from Florida, Illinois, North Carolina, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New York and SC - matched all but the red Powerball for $1 million.

Jackpot winners choose whether to receive 30 annual payments, each five percent higher than the last, or a lump-sum payment. Here's how the other matches work.

You have a chance to win over half a billion dollars. The amount you win drops dramatically after this.

And there are other ways to win. Next is your shot at $7. You can get a hundred bucks by matching either four white balls or three white balls and the Powerball, and if you match four white balls plus the Powerball you'd get $50,000. You'll get this if you match one white ball and the Powerball OR if you just match the Powerball.

Mega Millions drawings are Tuesdays and Fridays and are offered in 44 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
