The key finding, Trump pointed out, was no evidence of collusion or obstruction and he labelled the entire enterprise as a "total waste of time." .

Anonymous members of the Mueller team have reportedly told associates the full report will be more damaging for Trump than the Barr letter indicated. But Barr said he concluded there was not enough evidence to show that Trump committed the crime of obstruction.

The Electronic Privacy Information Center, which brought the suit hours after Mueller announced he had completed his investigation, "inexplicably ignores the Attorney General's statements that the Department and the Special Counsel "are well along in the process" of preparing the Mueller Report for release, and that he anticipates that the report will be released 'by mid-April, if not sooner, ' " the Justice Department wrote to a federal judge on Friday. Trump's Sunday morning tweet was apparently referring to such reports as well as the members of Mueller's team who reportedly spoke to the media.

Giuliani's comments come just days after The New York Times reported on the upset among some Mueller staffers over Barr's handling of the report - particularly the attorney general's four-page summary that noted there was no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation, and Barr's decision not to proceed with obstruction of justice charges against Trump.

Ultimately, the president posted a New York Post article encouraging Democrats to "give up" - a clear shot across the bow of Democratic-led House committees now ramping up their own investigations of the president, his family, and his businesses.

Barr said he was continuing to work with Mueller's office on redactions to the report so that it could be released to Congress and the public.

Speaking with host Margaret Brennan, the former New York City mayor was pressed about Trump interfering in the report by claiming "executive privilege". "We are very hopeful the attorney general will do the right thing here and make everything public that can lawfully be made public".

Robert Mueller has released his report into the 2016 election to the Justice Department. In a March 29 letter to lawmakers, he spelled out four areas that would be redacted: grand jury material, which could include any documents and testimony presented; information that could reveal the government's intelligence-gathering sources or methods; information that could compromise ongoing investigations; and details that would violate the privacy of those deemed "peripheral" to the investigation.

"The Department of Justice will continue to defend the long established tradition of protecting grand jury information", said spokeswoman Kelly Laco. "This Russia Hoax must never happen to another President, and Law Enforcement must find out, HOW DID IT START?"

"Well, the attorney general said there was no obstruction of justice".
