Potential Winter Storm For SE Wyoming Wednesday

This week's storm is bringing huge swings in air temperature to Colorado. The record temperature for the date is 81°F, set in 1977.

The photo above represents the area of greatest concern for strong to severe thunderstorms late in the day Thursday into Thursday night. Wednesday afternoon through Friday will be about 40 to 50 degrees colder than the temperatures Tuesday afternoon. The southern half of Crow Wing County sits in the path of the storm where 12-plus inches is expected and the northern half and most of Cass County sits in the path where 8-10 inches is expected.

A winter storm watch is now in place for Wednesday evening through Friday afternoon.

A winter storm warning and winter weather advisory are expected to go into effect starting Thursday.

"The problem is that we're not getting any time for the water to recede and things to dry out, so the levees can't be fixed; houses can't be fixed; crops can't be planted", he said. This storm takes a much more northerly track. Cities that will see the most snow include Rapid City, North Platte, Sioux Falls, Minneapolis, La Crosse, and Marquette.
