Microsoft Gives Paint the 11th Hour Reprieve it Deserves

The very first version of Paint was introduced with the first version of Windows (Windows 1.0), all the way back in November 1985.

Brandon LeBlanc, senior program manager with Microsoft's Windows Insider Program, confirmed the news via a tweet. And lately the company had been planning to remove the popular app from Windows 10 which isn't something that its fans appreciate.

When contacted, a spokesperson of Microsoft confirmed that the company is now prioritizing work on their new Edge browser.

Microsoft Paint will be included with the arrival of version 1903 which is the Windows 10 May 2019 update.

Samsung delays launch of Galaxy Fold after screen failures
The screen on Samsung's device can fold in half and open up again to give users a large display. Moving forward, Samsung said it plans to "take measures" to strengthen the display protection.

Microsoft has been working to update various elements of its user experience that are a hangover from its earlier days as it competes with rivals like Apple. Perhaps more strangely, this is only the case if you're now running version 1803 or 1809; upgrading from 1709 or 1703 (both of which are still supported, at least for Enterprise and Education users) means everything is, apparently, fine.

The plan had originally been for the 33-year-old program to be depreciated in favour of the more modern Paint 3D, instead offering it as a free download from the Windows Store.

The next Windows 10 update launches in May, and there was doubt about whether Paint would still be included. Finally, you don't need to worry about this as MS Paint is not going to get removed from the Windows OS. In that case, you can imagine the potential damage when the PC is looking for files on a certain drive which are no longer there because it has been reassigned a different letter - or indeed if your system drive succumbs to this fate, heaven forbid.
